About us

The Foreman Arts School is a performing arts school located in Hyattsville, MD. Our mission is to colorize the arts by providing professional arts training and mentorship to underserved communities. At The Foreman Arts, our goal is to turn no one away based on financial need. We offer full and partial scholarships to children and adults in need.  

History

FAS was created by Zuri Foreman in June of 2021.   Zuri Foreman is a professional dancer, singer, actress, dance teacher, and choreographer. Born and raised in the D.C. Metropolitan Area, Zuri has been a performer since the age of 3. She has been trained in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Hip-Hop, African Dance, Voice, and Acting. She holds a B.S. in Public Relations from St. John’s University and a Dance Theatre Certificate from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

Zuri has performed in several regional theatre’s across the United States, feature films, dance performances, and music videos. Her recent works include playing; Rosa Parks in an original musical titled "Rosa's Ride", and a Principal Dancer in a feature film titled "Passing", which has recently been picked up by Netflix. In addition to performing, Zuri is also the CEO/Founder of The Foreman Arts School (FAS), located in the D.C. Area. Her mission with FAS is to colorize the arts by providing professional arts training and mentorship to underserved communities. Her studio granted 12 scholarships to children in need in its first month of business alone and has granted 25 scholarships to date. Scholarships included free or reduced-price tuition, and full dance attire for all participants. Zuri strongly believes the arts should be available to all, and makes it her mission to serve communities in need through the arts.

• We always offer a clean and secure facility- All studios are thoroughly sanitized between each class. We have a medical grade air purifier that is turned on for all classes.

We emphasize confidence! We hold confidence week during the dance season where our staff works to build confident dancers who believe that they can accomplish anything on stage and off stage.
